Semilla homeschool co-op

Semilla ("seed") is Kamino del Sol's homeschool cooperative — a mixed-age learning community where young people develop academic, ecological, and cultural knowledge through hands-on farm practice. Learners grow and harvest food, study plant medicine, and engage with the living systems of the land as a primary classroom.

Semilla is rooted in Latine-Indigenous pedagogical traditions that center reciprocity, place, and intergenerational knowledge. Families who have been historically excluded from mainstream educational spaces find in Semilla a community that reflects their heritage and honors their children's full humanity.

Programming integrates agroecology, environmental science, food justice, and cultural arts — preparing young people not just for academic success but for lives of self-determination and service to their communities.
